West Virginia Land Book Information

Search by Address AND City

Notice by the above search description this is an AND search. This means that you have to enter something in both the Address Field and the City Field.

West Virginia counties do not use a standard abbreviation or spaces in the Address Field. A blank space is a valid character in a database search. For example, if you want to find "109 8TH STREET" first try the numeral "8TH" but if that doesn't return anything try "EIGHTH". In our Tutorial County of Pocahontas you will find it as "8TH". Next consider "STREET". It may be spelled out or it may be abbreviated as "ST". Or the street may have been left out altogether. So try a search on "109 8TH STREET" then "109 8TH ST" and finally "109 8TH" and notice the difference in the return data. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ADDRESS FIELD IS WHERE THE TAX TICKET IS MAILED. Not necessarily the location of the property, look is the Location and Legal Description Fields for help in finding the property. Searching by the Address and City Fields will return all the businesses and persons that have their Tax Tickets mailed to this address. But you should also search by each Owner name to check for typing mistakes in the Address Field. If you search on "PEACOCK DAVID" on the District and/or Owner page you will find one of the properties address as "109 - 8TH STREET". Note the hyphen between 109 and 8TH. You will also find there is more than one "PEACOCK DAVID" in Pocahontas County (different middle initials). So, which one are you looking for?

Try it!
